Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour 2023 is April 21 and 22, 2023. THe Banff ticket includes an all-access weekend pass to the Roger Tory Peterson Institute, hikes in their nature trails through the Peterson Preserve, and exhibits inside The Lodge - Hope is the Thing with Feathers: Contemporary Women Nature Artists. This exhibition features artwork by five women who explore the powerful yet fragile nature of birds and the ecosystems on which they depend for their very lives.
The Roger Tory Peteson Institute is celebrating Earth Day by expanding their presentation of The Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival to two days – Friday, Two different line-ups of the very best in beautiful, heart-pumping outdoor adventure films.

Allegany Adventure Run is May 6, 2023 at the Allegany State Park Summit Trail head. This beautiful, challenging and relentless course is in the Art Roscoe Trial system. Once again there are three different course distances, a 5K, 13K and 27K Courses that will challenge your stamina, sure-footedness and endurance in a setting few other venue's can offer in Western New York.
There are field limit imposed of 150 entrants per distance. Pre-register to guarantee your entry! Race-day entry will be available at a higher rate if availble. The race will be run rain or shine.

Happy Half Marathon and 5K is May 13, 2023. - Organized by the same folks who brought you the fall EVL Halloween Half, the spring Happy Half is a serious race, but full of fun surprises along the way. The 13.1 mile route will start in Ellicottville, take you through the rolling terrain of Great Valley and finish at Holiday Valley.
There's also a 5K distance and 1 mile Beer Run. The AWESOME after party will be held at the Holiday Valley Lodge. Southern Tier brewery is providing refreshments.

Raccoon Ralley Mountain Bike Race is June 18, 2023 at Allgany State Park. is an annual mountain bike race that is the longest standing Mountain Bike Race in the region! THe cross-country mountain bike race starts and finishes at the top of the mountain/Summit area in Red House, utilizing most of the Art Roscoe Trail System and Thunder Run Singletrack. There are 4 race classes for adults, novice, beginner, sport and expert, with a free kids call race.

Holiday Valley Mudslide Obstacle Trail Run is June 17, 2023 at Holiday Valley Resort. The mud obstcle trial run on a 3.5 mile or 5.4 mile course has many obstacles, include mud pits, log walls, cargo nets and more. The runs have 15 obstacles but NO fire, NO barbed wire, and NO electric shocks! The event has a maximum number competitors on the short course and the long course, so pre-registration is required. The earlier that a competitor registres, the greater the discount. Along with the adult course, there is a kids race too!

Ellicottville Championship Rodeo is June 29 to July 1, 2023 at Sommerville Valley Stables. The Ellicottville Championship Rodeo is one of the largest IPRA/APRA sanctioned rodeos in the Northeast. All seats are close to the action for this nine event rodeo, with riding events, timed and events and even a fun kids stick rodeo. Check out the bareback & saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping, bull riding, gowgirl barrel racing and breakaway roping and lastly calf roping. As always, enjoy fireworks scheduled on one of the nights.

Ellicottville Gazebo Series is Thursdays between June 30 and August 4, 2023 at the gazebo in downtown Ellicottville. Enjoy live music performed by some of the region’s most talented artists while relaxing in the village square. Stroll down to the square with lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets, coolers and even the family pet is welcome! Enjoy live music performed at the gazebo in the spendor of downtown Ellicottville.

Ellicottville Summer Music Festival is June 30 - July 2, 2023 at Holiday Valley Resort. The annual festival host rock n' roll artists at Holiday Valley's outdoor slopeside venue. This weekend is filled with music and fun family adventures! The 3 day festival host national bands, local bands and the Buffalo Philharmonic performances on the slopes of Holiday Valley. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and enjoy the music on the outdoor stage! And of course, enjoy the fireworks show after the philharmonic performs. Enjoy activities in downtown Ellicottville as well!

Scandanavian Folk Festival is July 15 - 16, 2023 in Jamestown, NY. The Scandanavian Folk Festival celebrates the heritage of the Nordic countries - Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Iceland in the Jamestown area. The 40 foot long Viking ship, Norseman, usaully makes an appearch at the festival after traveling from Philadelphia. Enjoy scandanavial traditional dance, polka, walz and more. There is an opening parade, and many bands and musicians play traditional and pop music at the festival.
Attend lectures about the varaious nortic countries and the heritage. Enjoy scandanavia market with hand made items, crafts, flag, quilts, shirts and more. 42 North Hilltap Festival is July 22, 2023 at Spruce Lake in Ellicottville, NY. The Hilltap Fesitval is a day-long experience that allows guests to experience the natural beauty of Spruce Lake combined with music, food, drink, and outdoor recreation. Vendors will be there to demo outdoor gear. Tikets include access to the chairlift ride to Spruce lake, live music, art, axe throwing demos, Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) demos, mountain bike & e-bike demos, 3 stages with live music, parking, and more! Jazz & Blues Weekend is July 29-30, 2023 June in Ellicottville, NY. The Ellicottville Jazz & Blues weekend is an awesome experience! There is a main stage in downtown Ellicottville, with many additional performances. You can choose from national, local and regional Jazz and Blues musicians. Wander through the village and choose from a variety of Jazz performance in restaurants, pubs, the street-side stage and the village square.

Lucille Ball Comedy Festival is August 2 - 6, 2023 and is the 31st annual festival presented by The National Comedy Center featuring Jeff Foxworthy, an unprecedented “Legends of SNL” show featuring David Spade, Rob Schneider, and Kevin Nealon, and more than 50 additional events in Jamestown, NY.
This annual festival attracts visitors from across the nation to share laughter, while honoring the craft and it’s contributors, in dozens of venues across Lucille Ball’s hometown. Griffis Sculpture Park Fesitival is August 21, 2022 at Griffis Sculpture Park in East Otto, NY. is a festival filled with music, creativity, exploration and much more. Enjoy live music from local and natioanl bands, drum groups and solo performers. The stage and setting are amanzing for this annaul festival.
The event also features a vendor village, a kid’s crafts area, food stands, and beer and wine service and more. The annual event is a major fundraiser for one of the nation’s oldest and biggest sculpture parks, so help support the arts. Park goers can also take in the 250 sculptures that reside throughout the trails of the 400-acre park, making it the United States largest outdoor sculpture park.

Night Lights at Griffis Scuplture Park are Thursdays through Saturdays September 9, 2022 to October 15, 2022 in East Otto, NY. The park and artwork are illuminated with colorful and theatrical lighting and surrounded by music. Night lights is open on scheduled fall weekends for guests to walk some of the park’s trails to experience the interaction between lights, nature and art. Tickets are sold online at Eventbrite in advance or can be purchased at the gate on the evening of the event. Night lights can be cancelled due to heavy rain, so check their facebook page and website the day of the event.

Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing is a 9 hole golf scramble is for chamber of commerce member and non-members. Come by yourself or a foursome, and it is for all skill levels. Pumpkinville is September 16 to October 31, 2023. Pumpkinville is a fall festival for the entire family. Enjoy the farm animals, hay rides, the cow train ride, the apple blasters, bouncing air pillows, Pumpkinville train rides, carosel, corn maze, obstacle course, candy cannon, the Pumpkin Patch Playground, story land, birds and bees exhibit and more.
Pumpkinville has plenty of treats; with a barbeque pit chicken, fresh pressed apple cider, home-made deserts, fresh made pumpkin doughnuts and more. They have sometimes have scenic helicopter rides on weekends, weather permitting. There is an apple barn and cider mill, painted pumpkins, merchant village and local artist gift shop. Roots, Rocks and Ridges XC Downhill Race is October 1 & 2, 2022. Perpare for this cross-country downhill mountain bike race presented in partnership with Holimont Ski Resort, Loud Performance, and Bike and Bean and WNYMBA. Enjoy this epic weekend of racing at Holimont, with one day dedicated to a xc marathon race on theor 30+ mile IMBA Epic trail system, and the other day dedicated to a downhill race on Holimont’s awesome lift-serviced trails.

EA2EVL Fondo Charity Bike Ride is September 30 , 2023. This non-competitive charity bike ride is for cyclists of all skill levels. The ride will start in East Aurora at 42 North Brewery and travel south down scenic Route 240 to Concord then route 242 all of the way into Ellicottville. The finish is at Holiday Valley Resort for the Apres Bike Party with craft beer, food, vendors, music chair lift rides and more. The fund raiser benefits the Erie Cattaraugus Rail Trail Inc. not-for-profit organization that manages for the 27-mile ECRT trail, which preserves Buffalo-Pittsburgh rail corridor for cyclist and others. The ECRT trail is a rails to trails conversion.

Nightmare Hayrides on Sommerville Street are Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from October 1 to 31, 2023. Enjoy all of these Halloween thrills from a 25 minute Nightmare Hayride, Gothic Chambers, Haunted Wooden Maze or the Haunted Barn with vortex tunnel. Each attraction is full of haunts and twists at every turn. There is a food pavilion with frankenstein, wherer you can get some treats after your thrills! The Nightmare Hayrides are just 10 minutes away from Ellicottville!
Tickets are purchased at the event, so plan ahead. One ticket price for all attractions. Kids under a certain age are free. Fridays and Sundays have smaller crowds, so you can get to the thrills sooner. They run seven vintage tractors through the nighmare hayride, so there are pleany of seat to scream from!

Fall Festival is October 7 & 8, 2023. The Fall Festival in Ellicottville, NY is also know as the Oktoberfest. The festival is the oldest and largest festival with Ellicottville’s hills ablaze with fall color. Take the ski lift up for live music and the view or soar over the hills with helicopter rides. Tens of thousands attend this lively weekend of great food, art show, craft show, tent sale, ski swap, carnival rides, live entertainment, 5K, mountain bike race and more.

Fall Scramble Off Road Run is October 7, 2023. The 4 mile or 8 mile off road running race will be on Holiday Valley resort property during Fall Festival weekend in Ellicottville, NY. Ride the chairlift to the top of the hill for the start and scramble your way on the off road course through hills of the resort. There are limited entries for 2022, so register early for a greater discount or to gurantee your spot in the race.

EVL Half Marathon and 5K is October 21, 2023. The EVL Halloween Half is a fun filled Halloween-themed event that feature a Half Marathon and a 5k for runners of all abilities. Participants are invited to run in costume and enjoy other Halloween related activities but it is not required. There are age group and costume awards for those who dress up for the halloween fun run. The EVL Half Marthon and 5K has 3 ways to enter, run a half marathon, run a half marathon relay or run a 5K! Fall is the perfect time to run a half Marathon with the cool temps. They also have some pretty cool finisher medals!!!

The Holiday Valley Beer and Wine Festival is an annual festival where guest can sample craft beer, wines and ciders from the Southern Tier's best breweries and vintners.
